This poster featuring a cheerful, green “robot chicken” with a propeller beak and a crest of flowers was designed by Chwast in 1977; the whimsical creature soon became a logo for the museum and appeared on its letterhead and other materials from the 1980s onward. C Some five decades later, Paula Scher of Pentagram (and Chwast’s wife) used the figure as the basis for a completely refreshed brand identity for the museum; it was redesigned into an entire flock of chicken robot mascots in different colors and with different crests for different contexts. Some of them have even been digitally animated.
