Schwast’s minimalist poster for an exhibition of the work of the Push Pin Studios designers listed in the upper margin is appropriate to an audience with a sophisticated design sensibility. The exhibition was held in the Matildenhöhe above Darmstadt in south-central Germany, an artists’ colony and ensemble of art nouveau and modernist buildings first established there in 1897 (and now on the UNESCO World Heritage list).
