Chwast has worked on several campaigns promoting paper companies over the years. This poster was part of a campaign on the theme of “Connections” commissioned by Simpson Paper Company from a number of designers and illustrators in the early 1970s. Chwast has stated that the cartoon-like illustration of washing and shaving tools here was inspired by artist René Magritte.
