Chwast promotes the 6th annual UNCF Arthur Ashe Tennis Benefit in 1980 with a clever portrait of the tennis superstar and civil rights activist wearing sunglasses reflecting a tennis match between a Black and a white player. Ashe, who died in 1993, remains the only Black player to have won the men’s singles titles at the U.S. Open (1968), the Australian Open (1970), and Wimbledon (1975).
