Glaser describes the printing of this work on his website: “This was a two color poster that employed two split fountains on the press in order to create the effect of a full color announcement. Of course, this requires a sympathetic pressman and willingness to spend a lot of time adjusting the results.” It advertises an exhibition at the Finch College Museum of Art with Art Deco style motifs. The museum was housed on the campus of Finch College, a women’s liberal arts college located in a group of townhouses on East 78th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (the college, the museum, and the Little Lenox Theatre also found on the campus all closed in 1976). This was one of two shows on Art Deco presented by the museum in the 1970s, both considered important landmarks in the field; the one promoted here focused on objects (including posters) while a second one, held in 1975–75 was dedicated to architecture. When this 1970 show moved on to the Museum at Cranbrook Academy in 1971, Glaser had it reprinted on pale yellow paper. Notably, the exhibition also became part of a major exhibition titled The World of Art Deco held later the same year at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and organized by the great Deco scholar Bevis Hillier.
