Glaser produced 27 posters in the SVA’s “Subway Series” poster campaign, beginning in 1965. Give Help is one of a group of three posters Glaser made in 2017 that were to be his last for the series; in these compositions, he asserts humane and compassionate values in the face of the first Trump presidency, suggesting that it is incumbent on artists and designers to be politically engaged. With subtle geometric abstractions, he evokes the yellow roof of a house emerging from flood waters, the message “Give Help” surrounding it reinforced by the quote from Oscar Wilde.
