Founded in Berlin in 1999, Heimat is a leading advertising agency within the German-speaking world. It was hired by A1 Digital to promote its data digitization services to small and midsize businesses that were growing too big for their current information management systems. This poster is part of a larger campaign displayed in Vienna, all of which are based on the visual conceit that workplaces are quickly being overrun by paper and that the best way to keep one’s employees from drowning in documents is to digitize everything and clear the clutter. The campaign specifically targeted organizations led by entrepreneurs, where people often wear multiple hats. It aimed to convince them that requesting help for outsourceable tasks is the best use of time and money. Posters like these emphasize how important humor can be in advertising—a timeless and universal means of convincing viewers to engage with a product.
