This is one of two posters that Glaser designed for Cows on Parade in 1999, a public art project in which some 300 life-size fiberglass cows decorated by local artists were scattered around downtown Chicago. The project was inspired by a similar one in Zurich, Switzerland, the previous year and itself inspired other cities to do something similar (New York City, for example, held CowParades in 2000 and 2021). In each case, some of the cows were later auctioned off for charity. In this clever design, Glaser’s cow in a landscape emerges from areas of color comprised of tiny cows; the scene is even framed by minute bovines.
