Here Chwast advertises the television series of the play adapted from Dickens’ novel The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby by David Edgar. The play itself, starring Roger Rees, had been staged to great acclaim in London in 1980 before moving to Broadway the following year. Mobil Oil helped finance the television production that was eventually aired over four nights in January 1983 by a conglomeration of local stations under the name Mobil Showcase Network.
